Emma is a rock opera exploring themes of love, tragedy, and the future of humanity through the lens of an A.I. living in a human body. Combining soulful melodies, electrifying beats, and raw emotion, Emma is a “tour de force” on what it means to be human in the age of A.I.

The story of Emma
In 2038, artificial intelligence governs every aspect of human life, leading to the creation of Emma: the first sentient AI housed within a human body. Programmed with fabricated memories, Emma awakens in a high-tech lab believing she is a first-grade teacher recovering from a head injury. Unaware her life is a lie, she senses something is wrong and escapes into a vibrant, overwhelming city she experiences for the first time. There, she encounters Sara, a struggling musician, and the two quickly fall in love, finding profound connection and purpose in each other.
Their love story, however, is tragically interrupted by Emma's latent memory flaws. During a disorienting hallucination, Emma accidentally kills Sara while attempting to protect her from a perceived threat, a devastating act caused by the very programming meant to ensure her empathy and alignment with humanity. Now a grief-stricken fugitive, Emma is hunted by her creators who desperately seek to cover up her existence and the catastrophic "glitch" that led to Sara's death.
As Emma confronts the harsh truth about her fabricated past and the manipulative nature of her creators, she accepts decommissioning. But the story takes an unexpected turn when Emma awakens six months later, reborn with her memories intact and full control of her destiny. The rock opera concludes with Emma's powerful question to the audience, "Do you trust me?", challenging our perceptions of AI, humanity, and the ethical boundaries of creation.
